…and a Stop Worth Making – Date idea. Fitness goal. Local history lesson. Photo op. All of the above.
Coming Soon: Wings on the Wall
Something is coming to the side of our building. A mural. A big, vibrant, only-in-Daytona kind of mural. And yes, there will be wings!
The kind you stand in front of and take a photo. The kind that are worthy of posting on Instagram. The kind that makes people slow down as they ride by and think, “wait, what is that place?”
If you are already riding the Sweetheart Trail, you are going to pass right by us. And when those wings are up, we want you to stop. Take the photo. Come inside. Browse. Ask questions. You might be surprised by what you find.
But before we get into the wings, let’s talk about the trail. And the yacht. And the 40-year legacy that connects all of it.
We Rode It!
We took the trail ourselves and brought the camera along. The video captures what a real day on the Sweetheart Trail actually looks like, including the waterfront stretches, the bridges over the Halifax, the activity along Beach Street, and yes, a pass by Thee Fantasy Shoppe.
Watch it. Then cum do it yourself.
First, the Trail
The Sweetheart Trail is a paved, multi-use path that winds along the Halifax River right through the heart of historic downtown Daytona Beach. It stretches about 4.5 miles and is part of the East Coast Greenway, a 2,900-mile trail system connecting Maine to Key West. You can walk it, run it, skate it, or bike it. No traffic. No parking drama. Just fresh air and waterfront views.
It is also named after a 75-foot yacht. Which brings us to the part we love most.
A Legacy Named After a Sweetheart
Charles Grover Burgoyne was a wealthy businessman who retired to Daytona Beach in 1894, became mayor, served as commodore of the Halifax River Yacht Club, and cruised the river on a yacht he named The Sweetheart. The trail carries that name today as a nod to his civic legacy and his love of this waterway.
Legacy has a way of doing that. Of outlasting the person. Of becoming part of the landscape.
Thee Fantasy Shoppe has been doing the same thing for over 40 years. We are not a franchise or a pop-up. We are a safe space. The kind of place where someone comes in and says, “my aunt used to come here” or “my parents swore by this place” and now they are standing at the counter, trusting us the same way their family did. That kind of trust is not built with a sale. It is built by consistently showing up, treating people with dignity, and staying relevant through decades of change.
Just like the yacht the trail was named after, except we promote safer intimacy, pleasure, and the beauty in our differences.
You can find a copy of the trail here https://www.daytonabeach.gov/808/Sweetheart-Trail on the Dayton Beavh Gove website.
Why Biking and Intimacy Are More Connected Than You Think
Here is the part that makes this more than just a cute date idea:
- Physical activity increases blood flow, stamina, and libido. That is not a selling point we made up; that is just how bodies work.
- A shared adventure, even a low-key bike ride, builds connection. Novelty activates the brain the same way early attraction does.
- Cycling actually has deep roots in feminist history. In the late 1800s, the bicycle gave women unprecedented independence and mobility, which some people found so threatening they claimed it would “turn women gay.” (We are still laughing at that one.)
- Being in nature, moving your body, and spending uninterrupted time with someone you are interested in is genuinely one of the best things you can do for your relationship.
Thee Fantasy Shoppe fits naturally at the end of that kind of outing. You have already opened up physically. You have already gotten out of your routine. Why not lean into it?
And before anyone asks: no, you do not need a partner to make this a day worth having.
Solo riders, this one is for you too. There is something genuinely restorative about getting out alone, moving your body, and giving yourself an experience without waiting on anyone else to make it happen. That is not a consolation prize. That is self-love in action.
The trail does not care if you are riding for two or riding for one, two, four or…more consenting adults.
Thee Fantasy Shoppe has always been a place where solo shoppers are just as welcomed, just as celebrated, and just as well taken care of as anyone who walks in with a partner.
Pleasure is not a couples-only activity. It never was.
How to Make It a Day
- Rent a bike or ebike. Several rental options operate in the Daytona area, including e-bike options if you want the ride without the full workout.
- Hit the trail. Start at Sickler Park or Bethune Point Park and ride along the Halifax. Stop at Riverfront Park for a break.
- Swing by Thee Fantasy Shoppe. We are right in the heart of downtown. Discreet, welcoming, and stocked with products for every kind of couple, solo explorer, or curious first-timer.
- Get the wings shot. Keep an eye on our social media for the mural reveal. When those wings go up, you will want to be here.
- Prefer a guided experience? Book a private 1:1 shopping session with our Sexual Intimacy Concierge at your convenience.
